The tariff of the Maharajas' Express includes cost of travel, accommodation, all meals, water, beverages, house brands of wines, beer and spirits, and sightseeing at the destinations. The tariff also includes entrance fees of monuments, guides, tour managers, still camera fees, and all leisure activities.

The tariff however does not include laundry, telephone calls, gratuities, liquors and alcoholic beverages (apart from house brands of wines, beer and spirits). Video, films and professional still camera fees are also excluded from the tariff.

As per Indian law, smoking is prohibited inside the train as well as other public places.

Smart casuals for the day, clothes with subdued colors for jungle safari and formal attire for the dinner to suit the occasion and as a consideration for fellow travelers is expected. Maharajas' Express India offers a total of 5 pre-packaged, all-inclusive itineraries. Three of them are pan-Indian itineraries spanning over 7 nights/8 days and the other two itineraries are golden triangle tours spanning over 3 nights/4 days.
