The Southern Jewels
The Southern Jewels present an itinerary of eight days. Starting from Trivandrum, the itinerary covers destinations including Chettinad, Thanjavur, Mahabalipuram, Mysore, Hampi and Goa, bringing the tour to its end in Mumbai.
Some of the defining features of the train tour include incredible sightseeing. Explore the lovely mansions of Chettinad, temples of Thanjavur, ruins of Hampi, UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mahabalipuram, relics of the Wodeyar dynasty in Mysore, and the beautiful churches of Old Goa etc.
The itinerary also covers a visit to Anegudi Village dating to Neolithic period settled on the banks of Tungabhadra, fun activities, lunch at palatial venues, folk dances for entertainment and rejuvenating spa sessions in 5-star hotels.

The Southern Sojourn
The Southern Sojourn is an itinerary of eight days. This train itinerary is designed in a way to display the magnificence of South India in all its glory. Starting from Mumbai the itinerary covers Goa, Hampi, Mysore, Cochin and Kumarakom, ending the tour in Trivandrum.
The journey includes sightseeing the marvelous Portuguese architecture of Goa including the beautiful churches. Explore the spectacular ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hampi, Mysore Palace, Chinese fishing nets in Cochin and canoe cruising in the backwaters of Kumarakom.
The itinerary also includes local village visit, local dance performances, lunch at exclusive venues, local activities and much more.

Maharajas’ Express, an initiative of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. made its maiden journey in 2010. Soon after its inaugural, it went on to become one of the world’s finest luxury trains.
