Maharajas’ Express was awarded the World Travel Award 2016 in World’s Leading Luxury Train category. India’s leading luxury train was honored at the 23rd World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2016. The extravagant ceremony was hosted in The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Noonu Atoll in Republic of Maldives on the 2nd of December, 2016.

The other nomination for the World’s Leading Luxury Train 2016 were Andean Explorer, Belmond Hiram Bingham, Deccan Odyssey, Eastern & Oriental Express, Rocky Mountaineer- GoldLeaf Service, Royal Canadian Pacific, The Blue Train, The Golden Chariot, Tren Crucero and Venice Simplon Orient-Express.

The World’s leading luxury train is synonymous with royal opulence, top rate cuisines and unparalleled hospitality. The train offers to its valued guests an experiential journey into the bygone era of imperial India. The train began its inaugural journey in 2010. This Indian luxury train has also been a winner of the coveted “The World’s Leading Luxury Train” at The World Travel Awards continuously for five years in a row, i.e. in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The 23-coach Maharajas’ Express currently operates on five routes. The journeys are available in choices of 8 Days/ 7 Nights and 4 Days/ 3 Nights itineraries. The itineraries cover destinations like Agra, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajanta, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Lucknow.

The Maharajas’ Express luxury train offers the best of modern luxuries. Guests are treated to a plethora of comforts and memorable experiences. The train comprises 23 carriages which include accommodation, dining, bar, lounge, souvenir shop, generator, and store cars. It is also equipped with a water filtration plant. The luxury train journey creates travelling experiences similar to the Maharajas of the yore.
